I have been making jewellery & my own clothes ever since I was a kid. Back then it was experimenting with marbling my fimo colours into beads, making up earrings out of plastic pyramids filled with hundreds and thousands, and dressing my Barbie dolls in my latest garment creations.

I loved being allowed to play in the dressup boxes of my aunts and grandmothers, who had all kept their lovely dresses and costume jewellery from their younger years. I was completely enraptured by their paste jewellery, and a love of sparkly things endures to this day.

Now I like to find vintage pieces and rework them, or take something from the vintage pile and make something completely new with it, or create pieces that are simply inspired by vintage. I like to experiment with non-traditional materials too. Rummaging through vintage stores and flicking through antique illustration plates are two of my favourite things - and when bringing something to life, I have found that this is an essential part of the process.

I greatly admire my creative colleagues out there today too - there is just so much talent around, it is truly inspiring!
